Arts and Craft : “Ballet Olympia” by John Portman

Arts and Craft (Post#12) : “Ballet Olympia” by John Portman

When I reached SunTrust Plaza, all I can think of taking photos aside from the building is the sculpture at the entrance of the tower. I had been searching what is the title of this master piece and I had been lucky to find out what it is. It is called as “Ballet Olympia” which created by architect John Portman who also designed the SunTrust Plaza. This has been created in 1991-1992. It was also noted that this sculpture were made based from another sculpture entitled “Maenad” by Paul Howard Manship. These photos are part of Atlanta Walks Photo Collection November 2015.
