Featuring Our World (Post#2) : Cloverdale
While I am looking what to post for photo theme, I randomly checked my picasa web photos online and found one album of photos that I haven’t written a travel post story because I just visited the place of a friend that I met while staying in Edmonton, near her house in Strathearn where it offers a great view of Edmonton Downtown and its surrounding areas. It’s pretty amazing that I still have those photos after almost 8 years that had been passed. The following photos includes the Gallagher Park where Muttart Conservatory are located. North Saskatchewan River is visible and even the Commonwealth Stadium. Photos captured last May 2008.

Discovery : Snow Shoe (From Royal Alberta Museum)
Discovery (Post#4): Snow Shoe (From Royal Alberta Museum)
As I am looking for photo to post that belongs to my project – photo themes, while reading again my old post for the month of February which entitled Royal Alberta Museum – Edmonton (Part 8) I saw again the snapshot that I captured inside the museum. When I saw the old version of snow shoe I was amazed how people really creative and intelligent just to address what it needs to survive. This image was shot last June 2008 and this is part of my Edmonton photo collection.
Name Of The Place : Blackcomb
Name Of The Place (Post#23) : Blackcomb
Snapshot above was captured last June 2008, when I got a chance to visit Whistler in British Columbia. The Blackcomb Mountain is a ski resort mountain beside Whistler Mountain. This is one of the best places that I ever been because this mountain, on its peak, gave me a chance to see the alpine mountains that surrounds Whistler. I felt I was in heaven when I reach the summit of this mountain through gondola.
Precious Moment In The Mountain : Athabasca Glacier
Precious Moment In The Mountain (Post#23) : Athabasca Glacier
As I live in tropical country, snowy mountains and glaciers are rare places to me. When I visited Canada, I had an opportunity to see glacier. And the most memorable experience I had was when I was able to walk at the top of one of the most famous glacier in Columbia Icefields part of rocky mountains in Canada which is Athabasca Glacier. And another notable thing I will never forget was the experience of numbing of my hand after I tried to create snow ball and very thankful I brought gloves. Photo captured last May 2008.
Discovery : White Rock in White Rock

Discovery (Post#3) : White Rock in White Rock
Excerpt from Wikipedia —
“The large, white rock figures prominently in narratives of the local Coast Salish peoples. One legend holds that the white rock marks the landing spot of a stone that was hurled across the Strait of Georgia by a young chief.[5] It was said that he and his bride would move from Vancouver Island to wherever the rock landed to make a home together. It was their descendants who became the Semiahmoo First Nation. (‘Semiahmoo’ is the Coast Salish word for ‘half-moon’,[citation needed]describing the shape of the bay.)”
When I got a chance to visit White Rock in British Columbia, my curiosity actually interested why the place called “White Rock”. And then my ex-colleague at work based in Burnaby mentioned that there was existing physical white rock along the seashore. And after he mentioned that information, I requested him if we can go there to see it for real. And the photo above was the “White Rock” we saw at Semiahmoo Bay with the Pier at the background of it. The snapshot was captured last June 2008 which part of my British Columbia adventure photo collection.
Natural Wonders : Mount Chepren and Waterfowl Lake
Natural Wonders (Post#3) : Mount Chepren and Waterfowl Lake
When I visited Columbia Icefield in Jasper, Alberta which I considered one of the great places that I had ever been, I had an opportunity to see beautiful and amazing sceneries along Icefield Parkway. And one of the scenic views that I witness was mountains lined-up in both sides of the road. The snapshot above was Mount Chepren together with icy-crystal Waterfowl Lake which can been seen in Icefield Parkway still in Banff, Alberta area which I captured during my adventure tour in Canadian Rockies last May 2008. The name of the mountain was came from the 4th Dynasty Egyptian Pharaoh Chepren (or Khafra) according to Wikipedia.
Discovery : Banff Spring Snail Pond
Discovery (Post#2) : Banff Spring Snail Pond
The photo above is previously a hot spring pool that people used before but because of endangered species of Banff Spring Snail, it has been preserved since then for the benefit to preserve the said species. Banff Spring Snail is only to be found here in Cave and Basin National Park Historical Site located in town of Banff in Alberta Province of Canada. This national park is one of the great place to discover whether you are in Banff or just around the corner of Canadian Rocky Mountains. Photo captured last May 2008.
Structure : British Columbia (BC) Legislature Building
Structure (Post#2) : British Columbia (BC) Legislature Building
BC Legislature Building is one of the significant structure that are noticeable within Victoria in Vancouver Island. This is the building where Members of Legislative Assembly to create, review and debate whether they pass or reject the law. From the shore, this building seems like a castle because of the architecture structure design that it has that is truly admiring to whoever got a chance to see this building. I never got a chance to enter this building as I only spent one day in Victoria during my 5 days visit in British Columbia province in Canada last June 2008.
Chromatic Outlook : Vancouver Downtown And Vancouver Harbour
Chromatic Outlook (Post#21) : Vancouver Downtown And Vancouver Harbour
During my short visit in Vancouver, one of the public transportation that I had a chance to experience was sea bus. After my half day tour in North Vancouver, I took sea bus so I can immediately cross the harbour to reach Vancouver Downtown straight to Vancouver International Airport located at Richmond. Photo captured last June 2008.
Panoramic View : Waterfowl Lake And Surrounding Mountains
Panoramic View (Post#21) : Waterfowl Lake And Surrounding Mountains
When I visited Banff National Park it inspired me and awakens me that deep in my heart I love nature and specifically I love mountains. Banff for me was like a real paradise wherein every part of it were almost perfect with its natural beauty. Mountains together with the glacier and icy lakes made the surrounding so uniquely wonderful. The photo above was one of the pristine icy lakes that I found while passing Icefields Parkway which captured last May 2008.

View At My Window (Post#17): Telus World of Science (Vancouver)
As I passed this noticeable, shiny, amazing and unique building I was quite surprised to learn that a similar museum that I found in Alberta does exist in British Columbia with its own identity. Traveling in Canada, I found three buildings that both existing in two provinces. The following buildings such as Royal Museum, Telus world of Science and Provincial Legislature are existing in Alberta and British Columbia. Photo captured last June 2008 while inside the bus.
