Featuring Our World : Tombori River Walk

Featuring Our World (Post#23) : Tombori River Walk

Photos of the day are all about Tombori River Walk. In every part of the city that I visited, there is a common place where it’s always charming and where people love to go. Whether the river is natural or man-made, a tourist spot located beside the river (whether its shopping or food district) will be born, it definitely become a hotspot both for locals and visitors. Tombori River Walk is no different.  During my walk in Dotonbori, there is one thing that I really like, the walkway beside the river. The famous and most populous Tombori River Walk portion can be found between Ebisu Bridge and Tazaemon Bridge. But I can see that river walk does not only lies between the said two bridges but the city has more plan beyond it. At the time of visit, there are still constructions going on beside the river walk extension. As per my observation, Tombori River Walk idea may starts from Minatomachi River Place up to Nihon Bridge. If all the buildings and structures beside the river between this place will be renovated and converted to commercial spaces such as shopping stores and restaurants, it will be a great place for a complete Tombori River Walk that can be enjoyed while strolling beside Dotonbori River. These photos are part of Osaka Tour last May 2017.

Featuring Our World (Post#22) : Keelung Harbor (Port of Keelung)

Photos of the day are all about Keelung Harbor, which is the only international harbor of Taiwan. It is also called as Port of Keelung and currently holds 7th Busiest Cargo Port in the World. Along with that, Keelung City develop coincided with the harbor. But because it is surrounded by mountains and has limited lands for development, its progress were contained in the harbor that supports the livelihood of the people in the city. Developments were related to seaport that is why I can say the harbor is most likely the city center of Keelung where majority of its economy depends on. These photos are part of Keelung City Tour last August 2017.

Featuring Our World (Post#21) : Hyden Rock

Photos of the day are all about Hyden Rock where the famous Wave Rock can be found. Wave Rock is the main feature of Hyden Rock but one of the activity to appreciate Hyden Rock is to trek itself like climbing a hill. Well Hyden Rock is considered as hill. And when reaching the top, a beautiful scenery of landscapes that surrounds the rock can be seen. Lake Magic is one of the existing lakes that can be seen from the top. And the salt lakes remnants (seen as white areas in the photos) as the area were known to be part of ancient river system. Hyden Dam can also found within Hyden Rock and visible at the top of the rock where its water are collected during rainy season through catchment walls from the two main domes. These photos are part of Wheatbelt Region Tour October 2016.

Featuring Our World (Post#20) : Margaret River

Photos of the day are all about Margaret River town. It was the second to the last destination we had in the tour before we call it for the day. It was a short visit to a small town located in the Southwest of Western Australia wherein it was a chance for us to see, to explore and to shop around the town. It is a nice place as it still feels like a country town. The name of the town, thought to be came from a  cousin of John Garreth Bussell (founder of Busselton) named Margaret Whicher. These photos are part of Margaret River (Western Australia) Region Tour October 2016.

Featuring Our World (Post#19) : Willie Creek

Photos of the day are all about Willie Creek. Willie Creek is where culturing pearl is happening. The Pinctada Maxima Oyster are transported in the creek as the site provides pristine water off the coast. The said oyster thrive in a nutrient rich waters. The Oyster are suspended in panels and put back several meters under the water. Then, these oysters are cleaned from marine organisms and being x-rayed to make sure the pearl development. During the visit, we had experience a lecture in the boat about the life of pearl shells while exploring the Willie Creek which even myself fell in love with the place and I thought that Pinctada Maxima Oysters has beautiful home for a limited time in the said place. These photos are part of Willie Creek Pearl Farm Tour October 2016.

Featuring Our World (Post#18) : Cable Beach – One of the Stunning Beaches in the World

Photos of the day are all about Cable Beach. It is a famous beach not only in Broome, but in Australia and to the world. It is the longest beach that I reached up to date. It is 22 km beach facing eastern Indian Ocean. And its name is historical because it came from the telegraph cable laid between Broome and Java in 1889 that made the town connected to the world. I visited the beach twice during sunset, it’s a perfect place to just relax and enjoy the fascinating sunset view. People enjoy the beach by swimming but be mindful on the signs if its closed due to stinger and crocodiles. These photos are part of Broome Sightseeing Tour October 2016.

Featuring Our World (Post#17) : Broome Town Beach

Photos of the day are all about Town Beach of Broome which located at the east side of the town facing Roebuck Bay. It is a small beach but has facilities such as water park, public toilets and cafe. At the time of my visit, it was a beautiful day when I saw local volunteers  cleaning up the beach by picking up and collecting rubbish around the shore. The beach considered to be a toddlers playground with lots of history. I like the ambiance of the beach while I was taking photos of its surrounding. I can say its a beautiful place to chill and relax. I recommend it to all visitors if happened to be in Broome to spend sometime in this beach. Visitors can just walk around, sit and watch the bay, or swimming but always check if its safe to swim before or during the visit. Featuring Our World (Post#16) : Derby Wharf

We felt ecstatic when we were already taking sealed road, we just finished the last part of dirt track of Derby-Gibb River Road. It means one thing, we were near in one of the town that has over 2000 population in Kimberley. It made us felt a bit that we were away from wilderness of Kimberley. We stopped in Derby so that the group can had one last time to lunch all together. We stayed in the park and had cooked and prepared our food at Centenary Pavilion where we witnessed the Community Mosaic Tile Floor which symbolizes one way to celebrate the achievements of the state and nation in 100 years since Federation. And I did a bit of walk near Derby Wharf where it is said that its port receives the highest tides in any port of Australia, that’s why the jetty stands so high. Featuring Our World (Post#14) : Windjana Gorge and Lennard River

Windjana Gorge for me has its own unique beauty. I love the surroundings. I just thought that the dry land area where we sit at that time to observed the “Freshies” (Freshwater Crocs) and to watch fruit-bats most likely under the water during wet season. And it was another amazing environment to see the crocs in their natural habitat which is the Lennard River and the surroundings of the gorge itself. The gorge is made out on Napier Range because of the Lennard River, as per study, the whole place was under the ocean 300 million years ago. I can’t comprehend how long was that. These photos are part of Day 8 (Bell Gorge and Windjana Gorge) of 9 Days Darwin to Broome Overland Adventure Tour October 2016.

Featuring Our World (Post#13) : Manning Gorge

After a long walk towards the Manning Gorge, though we had a bit of rough walk in reaching it, it was worth the effort to be in the said place. Sometimes they call the place Manning Gorge waterhole or Manning Gorge Waterfalls. Because its dry season, the was a little bit of falls that can be seen in the gorge. When I saw where we were, I felt like we found a paradise because of its natural settings, the surrounding areas, the rocks astray in the ground, the walls in between that made the waterhole like it was a river in some part of the gorge. I was really amazed and enthusiastic that I got a chance to be there. These photos are part of Day 7 (Manning Gorge) of 9 Days Darwin to Broome Overland Adventure Tour October 2016.

Though we were in Gibb River Roads for hours, reaching Manning Camp was indeed a relief to all of us. And we had enjoyed this creek as there were colourful and small fishes to be found even at the shallow area. Staying in El Questro Station, there are lots of things can be done, but I knew that even that is the case, there are specific places that our group can go to and I was glad aside from Zebedee Springs, we went to Emma Gorge where we drove few minutes from the station. I love Emma Gorge even though the activities involved has swimming. I like the rocky trail we trekked towards the falls. And after the hike, all just wanted to plunge into the waterhole but be warned its water is cold. Once we reached the Pagat Point, I fall in love with the place. I remembered what I saw when we stopped a bit in Yigo in the middle of Buggy Off-Road adventure. If the scenery of the coast from the top is amazing the scenery of the coast up close are more than that. The clear ocean water and the waves that strikes the coastal cliff seems to be one of a kind. The way I looked at my surroundings, I thought I was in another world or another planet as for me it was additional paradise that I witnessed. And the uniqueness added to the place are the limestones formed around the area. These photos are part of Guam Adventure Photo Collection April 2017.

Featuring Our World : Ximending – First Pedestrian Area in Taipei and Largest in Taiwan

Featuring Our World (Post#5) : Ximending

The first place that I explored when I arrived in Taipei was Ximending because it is walk-able from the accommodation that I stayed in the city and to immerse myself immediately that I was in Taiwan as market is one of the signature tourism of the country. At first, I was not really sure of going to the area because I don’t really shop when I travel except during the last day of the trip and yet I decided to do it to see it. After visiting the place, I find it enjoyable to just walk in Ximending.

One thing to note, the well-known Ximending Pedestrian Area was the first pedestrian area built in Taipei and is the largest in Taiwan.
