Home (Post#25) : Tabunan Beach
Last year of my travel in the island where my family roots begun, I had a quick visit and a bit of walk in Tabunan Beach at Banton Island in Romblon province. Above photo is just one of my collection during my walking tour along the beach. The beach is located at the western side of the Island in Yabawon where my uncle Napo lives. Photo captured last March 2015.
Home (Post#24) : Pandin Lake
Pandin Lake is one of the Twin Lake (other lake is Yambo Lake) that can be found in San Pablo City in Laguna province in my country Philippines. This lake is also included in what currently they call Seven Lakes of Laguna (or Seven Lakes of San Pablo). The said lake is one of the volcanic crater wherein according to Wikipedia that it means circular depression in the ground caused by volcanic activity. It is typically a basin, circular in form within which occurs a vent (or vents) from which magma erupts as gases, lava, and ejecta.
This photo is part of my photo collection of Lakes in Laguna and which captured last Sept 2011 during the unplanned trip with few of my fellow mountaineering group.

Home (Post#23) : Mount Banahaw and Lucena Port
Mount Banahaw is currently in restoration period since 2004 that’s why it is prohibited for any climbing related activities though there are still few breaks it. When I saw it while at the summit of Mount Banahaw it become notable for me, I fell in love with it further every time I pass Maharlika Highway (Pan-Philippine Highway) and when I visited my home in Visayas through Lucena Port in Quezon province, I witnessed how it was majestic from a far. Photo captured last March 2015.
Home (Post#22) : Capones Lighthouse
During summer of 2009 (March 2009), the mountaineering group where I belong used to schedule summer adventure every year and that year was quite a lot. One of the itinerary we had that time was Capones Island where historical lighthouse built. It was historical because it is one of the oldest light station exist in my country. It was first lit last August 1, 1890. The light station still active until today and its lenses has been replaced, but the sad things about it is its surrounding area was left ruined and as far as I know it still the same as of this writing. We took a boat to reach Capones Island to visit this historical site from Anawangin in San Antonio Zambales.
Home (Post#21) : Maquinit Hotspring
When we traveled to Coron, one of the first place we visited as part of our 3 days and 2 nights trip to Coron was to take a bath in Maqunit Hotspring. I will not forget this place because it was the hot spring wherein my underwater camera started to malfunction simply because we use it in the hot spring (well we forgot that it was sensitive in temperature, we thought it will survive in the condition of that hot spring). We had great time relaxing our selves after our flight from Manila to Busuanga. The moment captured last August 2013.
Home (Post#20) : Kinabuhayan River
When we climbed Mount Cristobal as part of our preparation training for Mount Apo climb, another place near in the mountain that our group visited was Kinabuhayan River which can be found within Barangay Kinabuhayan in Dolores Quezon. We stopped here to rest and to enjoy the river. Photo captured last February 2009.
Home (Post#19) : Mount Tarak Ridge
Tarak Ridge is located in Mariveles Bataan and one of the mountain that I never expected that I will climbed some part of the trail and I felt like a spider as I need to crawl in some parts of the track through the branches and roots of the trees strayed in the ground because it is the way to ascend the mountain and the track is almost vertical that you cannot afford to let go your hand grip from branches and roots as your life depends on it. The snapshot above was captured last October 2010 coming from the jump-off area and the start of a long walk before reaching the base of the mountain.
Home (Post#18) : Mataas Na Talon
I will not forget this falls as I experienced tremendous adventure before we reach this one as we took the falls stream trail just to reach this falls, where we walked mostly where half of our body were soaked in the water and I was lucky because my camera is waterproof and can go under the water. I understand that this kind of beauty of nature such as falls is not easily to be found and most of them are inside or within the vicinity of mountains. The falls above is called “Mataas na Talon” (or High Falls). At the time we reached this one, I keep on asking of its name but because of its remote, rare and treacherous location, no one bothers to name this fall that is why the locals who live in the area just call it “Mataas na Talon”. This falls is located in Tanay in the province of Rizal. The adventure took place last May 2011.
Home (Post#17) : Canyon Cove
As my country is an archipelago, and this means we were surrounded by islands and beaches. When we say beaches, for most Filipinos it means swimming excursion. Canyon Cove is just one of the beach that covers the edges of Nasugbu Bay in Batangas province. I had a chance to visit this cove through company outing and this was the place it was held last April 2011.
Home (Post#16) : Boracay West Cove – A Boxer’s Champion Mansion
When we did a beach adventure while in Boracay, I never expected to see this mansion in Boracay West Cove, I heard from friends that this is owned by our famous boxing hero Manny Pacquiao. I did a little bit of searching in the net and it seems what I heard is true. Anyway having this kind of home in prime island in my country such as Boracay shows the wealth of the person. Photo captured last March 2012.
Home (Post#15) : Kayangan Lake
When I got a chance to return to my country while I was assigned in Australia for work, I grabbed the opportunity to visit some part of my country which really famous to both local and foreign tourist. I am referring to Coron Island. Coron Island per Philippine Geography information is part of Calamian Group of Islands which located at Northern part of Palawan province. The said island is not only popular for its pristine beaches but also of its paradise lakes which hidden inside the island itself. Kayangan Lake is one of the lakes that are hidden and before you will be able to see it, there is a little bit of trek which is worth to be doing to see the paradise scenery. Photo captured last August 2013.
Home (Post#14) : Sibulan River
After Mount Apo trek, I stayed in Davao for another 3 days so that I can see more of Davao. One of my mountaineer friends stayed behind as well as he will also spend holidays in Davao at that time. One of the side trip that I did with my friend were water tubing and snorkelling in Santa Cruz Davao del Sur. Sibulan River was the river we visited to experience water tubing and the whole group enjoyed the adventure with the rapids of the river. Photo captured last March 2009.
Home (Post#13) : Manila Bay
Manila Bay is a harbour covering its capital city and nearby metro cities in the Philippines which located in Luzon. The Port of Manila is located almost at the center of Manila Bay which serves as the trades of the country and its neighbours. Photo captured when we visited Manila Ocean Park last April 2009.
Home (Post#12) : Kalibato Lake and Mount Banahaw
One of the many things that I really appreciate when I joined the mountaineering group is to discover the beauty of my country on its own. We made a tour in san Pablo Laguna because of the Seven (7) Lakes that it has. All the Seven Lakes are near to each other. One of the Seven Lakes is Kalibato Lake where we did a little bit of trek going down to the lake. I was not disappointed after seeing the view above. Mount Banahaw is the tallest mountain in CALABARSON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon Provinces) area. Photo captured last September 2011.
Home (Post#11) : Crashed Japanese Plane At Jack’s Ridge
During my three days holiday in Davao after climbing Mount Apo, one of the itinerary was to visit Jack’s Ridge in Davao City. Jack’s Ridge was historical place during World War II, the time when Japanese retreated at the said place until they lost their fight against Americans. Photo captured last March 2009.

Home (Post#10): Cagayan De Oro River
When we set to climb Mount Hibok-Hibok in Camiguin Island, the whole group flew to Cagayan de Oro where we will take the boat to Camiguin. And since we were already in Cagayan de Oro or famously known as CDO, we did a side trip in the place. The photo above was taken during white water rafting last October 2012. I learned from our guide, that the river serves as natural boundary between Bukidnon and Iligan, and between Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro. Our adventure categorized as medium level based on where we started the rafting in the river. While doing the adventure I was really fascinated how wild the river is, how beautiful and clean it is. I actually fall in love with the river.
Home (Post#9) : Cavaliers Park at Philippine Military Academy
I spent two-week vacation back to my country when I was still working in Singapore. And one of my vacation itinerary was to return to Baguio City. It was my third time and first time to my mother and youngest sister to visit the coldest city in my country. Part of our tour in the said city was the famous school where most of brave knights of my country came from which is none other than Philippine Military Academy (known as PMA). The photo above is one of the attraction to see inside the PMA which is the Cavaliers Park. I captured this photo last May 2010.
Home (Post#8) : Waterfalls – Wawa Dam
When I joined the mountaineering group for basic rapelling course the perfect place near in Metro Manila for such activity is Wawa Gorge where there are high rocks in surrounding area and the beautiful Wawa Dam. The photo was captured last September 2009 few weeks earlier before Typhoon Ondoy hit my country in the same year.
The photo above has been posted in my other blog Las Islas Filipinas World site.
Home (Post#7) : Katibawasan Falls
One of the side trip that we had after climbing Mount Hibuk Hibok in Camiguin Island province in Bohol Sea Philippines was to visit Katibawasan Falls. The falls is located at the foot of Mount Timpoong. When we visited the falls, some of my mountaineering group did tried to swim at the ice-cold pool which really good for tropical heat. Photo captured last October 2012.
Home (Post#6) : Taal Lake and Taal Volcano
Taal Lake surrounds the Taal Volcano which located in Batangas province in my country Philippines. Taal Volcano is a volcano island which erupted a long time ago that resulted for its crater lake. I captured this photo after attending Basic Mountaineering Course (BMC) last May 2009 at one of the restaurants overlooking in Tagaytay City, Cavite
