Transportation : Tombori River Cruise Boat

Transportation (Post#20) : Tombori River Cruise Boat

Photos of the day are all about Tombori River Cruise Boat that can be easily seen along Dotonbori River. I took the river cruise during the visit in Osaka since it was included in the Osaka Day Pass that I bought. Even though I already walked beside the river, seeing Dotonbori from a boat or from a river still made a difference the way to see the famous tourist spot of Osaka. These photos are part of Osaka Tour last May 2017.

Photos of the day are all about Taiwan Railway LDK58 Steam Train, a narrow-gauge steam locomotive which can be found being displayed near at Taipei Main Station East 2 Exit. The information found related to the displayed steam train are from the board display at the front of it. These photos are part of Second Taipei Tour last August 2017.

TRA LDK58 Steam Locomotive
LDK58 steam locomotive was manufactured by Nippon Rolling Stock Japan in 1923. It weighs 21.6 tons and has 5030 kg power, equipped with a central buffer couple, 4 power axles and water tanks on its sides. In the early days, it ran on the line between Hualien and Taitung, playing a major role in providing services.

It was retired in June 1982 when the gauge of the line between Hualien and Taitung was widened from 762mm to 1067mm. On July 7, 1985, it was shipped to Makong, Panhu as a gift for Panhu County Hall and exhibited in the county’s cultural center.

To preserve railway cultural heritage, TRA shipped it back to Taipei Railway Workshop in October 1999 and restore it before the year 2000 railway festival (June 9). On the very day of railway festival a brand new LDK58 was exhibited on the east square of Taipei Railway Station. It was shipped to Taipei Railway Workshop for preservation.

Photos of the day are all about yacht astray in Hillarys Boat Harbour and Rottnest Island. I found a lot of them in some harbours that I got a chanced to walked by and one of them when I was in Hillarys ferry terminal and in Rottnest Island. And because too many of it, I really don’t know how to categorize all of it, so I just generalized all of it as yacht. Both the terminal and the island has boating facility, that is why if anyone enjoys sailing whether for pleasure or for racing, both places welcomes boaters. These photos are part of Rottnest Island Tour October 2016.

Transportation (Post#14) : Purnululu, WA – Overland Truck

Going to remote and desolate places in Kimberly in Western Australia does have requirements as not all roads are sealed roads. There are restricted roads which called to be unsealed roads or dirt tracks where only an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) and 4X4 vehicle are allowed to or can access to. And the first Overland Truck we took were able to manage to travel from Darwin to El Questro Station. These photos are part of Day 3 (Purnululu National Park) of 9 Days Darwin to Broome Overland Adventure Tour October 2016.

Transportation (Post#13) : Lake Argyle, WA – Cruising Boat at the Jetty

Exploring Lake Argyle is a worthy adventure and it can only happen when boarding a cruising boat. When we were roaming the lake, we are not the only cruising boat that can be found doing the adventure tour. After the cruise ended and before leaving the jetty, I captured the boat we used to explore the reservoir. The photo is part of Day 2 (Judbarra/Lake Argyle) of 9 Days Darwin to Broome Overland Adventure Tour October 2016.

Transportation (Post#12) : Nitmiluk, NT – Narrated Boat Tour

One of the things to enjoy within Nitmiluk National Park is cruising in a boat along Katherine River learning historical facts of different gorges around the park. In our group, we trekked towards Baruwei Lookout to witness the fascinating scenery of Katherine Gorge. The boat here was captured cruising Katherine River from the lookout. These photos are part of Day 1 (Darwin to the Katherine Region) of 9 Days Darwin to Broome Overland Adventure Tour October 2016.

Transportation (Post#11) : Nitmiluk, NT – ARB 4×4 Vehicle

In this photo, the background scenery is awesome looking towards the ground of the park, but at the side of this snapshot was the ARB 4X4 vehicle. Honestly, I love this kind of jeep or wagon because of its ability to go further even with rough road or dirt tracks. Transportation : Atlanta – Streetcar

Transportation (Post#10) : Atlanta – Streetcar

In Atlanta they call it as streetcar which reminds me of trams in Melbourne. Though I haven’t taken this one at the time of my walks in Atlanta, it gave me impression as I had seen photos of the city that it uses streetcar before specially in major street such as Peachtree Street but I learned that it was phased out in 1949. But thinking about the streetcar, the city is trying to put it back. These photos are part of Atlanta Walks Photo Collection November 2015.

Trekking Mount Pinatubo requires 4X4 to be able to reach the walking trail towards the mountain. Because of Lahar that flows in the river, the change in the Lahar deposits that became concreted after years that passed had major effects on the river bed that used by 4X4 to send tourist and hikers near the walking path which still kilometer distance to the Pinatubo Crater Lake. These photos are part of Mount Pinatubo Trekking Adventure Photo Collection January 2017.

Transportation (Post#7) : Yigo, Guam – Buggy ATV (All Terrain Vehicle)

Riding a vehicle is also an adventure, during my holiday trip in Guam, I tried to experience to ride a Buggy ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle). Since it was summer in the island, our off-road ride adventure was not a dirty one even there were tracks that we passed specifically inside the forest area that are dusty and I can imagine in wet season it will be a muddy one. I guess that will be more fun right? The photo is part of Guam Adventure Photo Collection April 2017.

Transportation (Post#3) : Japan – Bullet Train

One of the things that made us happy and we will never forget an experience was, when we had a chance to travel in Japan through bullet train. Bullet train in Japan are one of the fastest train available in Earth. And this kind of transportation seems to be just another common transportation mode that being look as moving people in a fast way. What I like the most about this bullet train, the ambiance inside of it is similar to an airplane. The travel was so smooth and you will just surprise in just few hours, you were already in your destination. Snapshot captured during Japan adventure last September 2015.

Every time I travel, I used to take photos of anything to remember all the places that I visited. The snapshots were always random, whatever my camera caught. The photo above was one of the double-decker tram available as public transportation in Hong Kong and the one above was a flavour of a popular brand of chocolate which captured during our Chinese season visit last January 2012.
