Photos of the day are all about Fushimi Inari Taisha Romon or Main Gate. I am featuring this gate here because it is another gate that has story behind it. But this time, unlike the Chion-In Sanmon with sad story, this gate is somewhat represents blessings as what mentioned to its official website, below is the summary.
Toyotomi Hideyoshi (regarded as second great unifier of Japan) built the gate from his donations, he prayed to Inari Okami and made a pledge that once his ill mother recovered, he will make donations which what happened for real. This story has been proven to be true when they discovered a text in sumi ink at the gate during its maintenance.

Before leaving the lake to end our adventure for the day, we had a chance to witness sunset within the lake. And that moment gave me a chance to capture the beautiful sunset that was so fascinating to see. These photos are part of Day 2 (Judbarra/Lake Argyle) of 9 Days Darwin to Broome Overland Adventure Tour October 2016.
While exploring night photography during my walk around Circular Quay and The Rocks, I tried to capture from a distance the one of the popular theme park available in Australia which is Luna Park Sydney which operational since 1935. The theme park has also a branch in Melbourne which recently celebrated its Centennial last 2012. The photo is part of Sydney Walking Tour April 2014 collection.
What can I say about this bridge? It is famous every time the new year is celebrated in the city as usually fireworks display held in the bridge. It’s fascinating to see the night version of this bridge. The photo is part of Sydney Walking Tour April 2014.
When I visited Manly Beach, it’s already dark, therefore I haven’t seen it in day light. Due to limited time, I had been content in walking in the beach at night. The was named by Captain Arthur Phillip describes the indigenous people’s with confidence and manly behaviour and named it as ‘Manly Cove’. The photo is part of Sydney Walking Tour April 2014.
The building is a business establishment where Australian School Management, Careers Australia and Swinburne University of Technology can be found. Outside the building it looks like a church because of its exterior design. During White Night event, the building transform its looks. Photo is part of White Night Melbourne Photo Collection last February 2014.
Anyone who had been in Melbourne definitely knows this famous meeting place in the city – Federation Square. Because of its strategic location and creative design of the building, it become known to everyone as this is the usual meeting place not only for cultural and other scheduled activities in the city but also a meeting place for free walking tours and for anyone who just wanted to meet and chill. I regret that during Open House Melbourne event, I was never selected to see what’s inside the building. I had been inside for just few minutes for peeking but nothing more elaborate than that. I was able to capture this one during dinner with friends around this area. Photo captured last October 2014.
City of Digital Lights was the first place that I visited where everything it prides are artistic and colourful lights. Based on the city’s information, it proud to have more than a million LED displayed. The place is within the vicinity of I-City in Shah Alam, Selangor in Malaysia. During our visit, we enjoyed different kinds of lights display and we both admired the unique, bright, colourful and artistic lights that made the place wonderful and alive specially at night. The photo above was lights display at the side immediately seen from the road. Snapshot captured last December 2012.
Taking photographs at night is more challenging than taking it at day time. Because, I need to tweak something in my camera just to be able to capture it clearly. Since I am still a newbie in terms of customizing the settings of my camera, I was glad that I was able to capture this very simple night shot of Sydney CBD while returning from Manly Beach through ferry. Photo captured last April 2014.
