Malaysia – 2008, 2012, 2013
When I got a chance to visit Malaysia, my first impression was their people were not really different from my race specially when I arrived in Kota Kinabalu in Sabah. I thought that they were Filipinos until I heard them speaking a different language than mine which is Bahasa Language. When I got a chance for more than a week travel adventure not only in Kuala Lumpur and other parts of the country, I realised that this country has a lot of similarities in terms of culture and religion from Philippines. I remember that there are words in Filipino (Tagalog) Language came from Bahasa and one of Filipino ancestors based on study and history is Malay. Because of geographical location of Malaysia and Philippines it cannot avoid to associate some of the culture specifically in the southern part of Philippines which is Mindanao where the majority of Filipino Muslim lives. Another similarity is the weather and environment which called as tropical country, though I am not sure if they also experience typhoons which we used to have.
