Panoramic View (Post#21) : Waterfowl Lake And Surrounding Mountains

When I visited Banff National Park it inspired me and awakens me that deep in my heart I love nature and specifically I love mountains. Banff for me was like a real paradise wherein every part of it were almost perfect with its natural beauty. Mountains together with the glacier and icy lakes made the surrounding so uniquely wonderful. The photo above was one of the pristine icy lakes that I found while passing Icefields Parkway which captured last May 2008.

Panoramic View (Post#20) : Melbourne Central Business District

One of the things that I really like when I live abroad is to walk around in the place with my camera. As there are lot of places to explore in Melbourne and its surrounding area, I did some research until I found something about Bayside. It is a city at the southern Melbourne which scopes the suburbs beside the coastal area such as Beaumaris, Black Rock, Brighton, Brighton East, Cheltenham, Hampton, Hampton East, Highett and Sandringham. When I was about to leave Melbourne last December 2013, I grabbed a chance to walk along the coastal of these suburbs. I took the photo above of Melbourne CBD almost near in Royal Brighton Yacht Club.

“Istana Negara” means National Palace and when we visited this magnificent structure we learned that there are two existing Istana Negara, the photo above is the new and current Istana Negara located at Jalan Duta in Kuala Lumpur, the other one is now called as Old Istana Negara and named as Royal Museum. This building is the official residence of the head of state of Malaysia. At the time we visited, we can only see the building from the outside of the gate as the inside of the palace is not open for public. Snapshot captured last December 2012.

Panoramic View (Post#18): MacRitchie Reservoir

When we arrived in this place for walking and trekking adventure, I fell in love with the place. MacRitchie Reservoir is one of my favorite place in Singapore as the area has nature surroundings that helped me forget that I live in the city. The reservoir shot has relaxing view that kept me standing there for a while to appreciate the beauty in front of me. Photo captured last June 2010.

Yarra Valley, region in Victoria state of Australia and famous because of its wineries. During our tour in the said place, one of the itinerary was Killara Estate where we tasted some wines and had lunch as well. In the location I found a scenery that’s soothing to my eyes which was the Killara Estate farm or wineries. Photo captured last February 2013.

Panoramic View (Post#15) : Mount Conner

One of the mountains that I discovered from a distance in Red Centre at Northern Territory Australia is Mount Conner. When I saw this mountain I can’t believe that there such a mountain where the top is almost perfectly flat when looking from a far. For us in Philippines such hill or mountain are categorized as “Talampas” which means an elevated area with flat top or in English it is a Plateau or Mesa (Table Mountain). “Mesa” word is actually means “Table” for us. Photo captured during my Outback Adventure last March 2013.

During my second visit in Sydney, I planned to visit Blue Mountains and Jenolan Caves. It says that the mountain is still part of mountainous area related to Great Dividing Range. Photo captured last April 2013.

Panoramic View : Lake Louise

Lake Louise with Victoria Glacier

Panoramic View (Post#12): Lake Louise

I visited Banff in Alberta province in Canada during the time where the winter was over recently. At that time, the switching of Winter to Spring season were still in progress, I got a chance to see Lake Louise in Banff where majority of its water are still solid as ice. The name of the lake was named after Princess Louise Caroline Alberta which was the 6th child and 4th daughter of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. For what I know up to this moment, Queen Victoria still holds the title of the longest reigning queen of England unless the current queen which is Queen Elizabeth II able to break which she just need 2 or 3 more years to be able to hold the title. The middle in the photo is what they call Victoria Glacier. Photo captured last May 2008.

Panoramic View : Mount Kinabalu

DSC06416Panoramic View (Post#11) : Mount Kinabalu

First mountain to climb – Mount Kinabalu, the mountain with the title of “Highest Mountain in South East Asia”. To be honest, I was not able to reached the summit of the mountain. Mount Kinabalu’s altitude is 4095 MASL (meters above sea level). Yes this was the first mountain that I climb when I joined the mountaineering club which headed by my colleague at work that time. I only reach the hotel in Laban Rata with altitude of 3200+ MASL. I never insist to myself to push over to my limits. I told myself that the mountain is not going anywhere and maybe time will permit me or allow me to reach the highest peak of this mountain. My group was composed of 13 mountaineers and 5 in the group were able to reached the highest peak. For me I made an accomplishment for a rookie member like me. But I will not recommend to do the same thing that I did because preparation for conquering high altitude mountain need training physically because it definitely helps. Photo captured last September 2008.

Panoramic View (Post#10) : Mentone Beach

One of the self adventure that I did while staying in Melbourne was to visit the Bayside area. Bayside is composed of different suburbs which majority of it lies in south-eastern side of Metro Melbourne. Before, I was confused because there are suburbs and then there is Bayside. I checked the website of Bayside and they sent me a lot of brochure that I really appreciated because it keep me informed while walking at the coastline of the Bayside City. I learned that the following city such as Brighton, Sandringham, Moorabbin, Mordialloc and Bayside were united to become Bayside City.

The photo above is just one of the photos of Mentone Beach that I captured which partially part of Frankston and Mentone. During my walking adventure, I started my first part walk in this beach. Photo captured last December 2013.

Sulphur Mountain is just one of the beautiful mountains that can be found in Banff National Park which named after its hot spring on its lower slopes. Vermillion Lakes as per Wikipedia are series of Lakes formed in the Bow River valley, in the Banff National Park and at the foot of Mount Norquay. I had a chance to visit this place last May 2008 when I went in Edmonton at Alberta Province in Canada for work.

I can’t forget this park as this awaken myself to one of the things that I really love since I was in college which is mountain. Every time I saw mountains, I always think how beautiful the mountain is and wondering whats on it to experience. I love climbing mountain but never had a chance to climb an alpine mountain as I live in tropical country and what we have are tropical mountains.
