Chromatic Outlook (Post#13) : White Rabbit Brewery

I accepted the invitation of my colleague at work when he invited us to go to Yarra Valley. The said valley are famous because of wineries which stretch to its whole space. And one of the place we visited was the White Rabbit Brewery in Healesville. They knew I don’t really drink but to see what’s inside the brewery were considered adventure and discovery. Photo captured last October 2013.

It says that the mountain is still part of mountainous area related to Great Dividing Range. Photo captured last April 2013.

It was first freedom climb in my country and my mountaineering group has been assigned to Mount Maculot. Mount Maculot has rockies part where its overlooking are Taal Lake and Taal Vocano. During the climb, I discovered a panoramic view along the way and for me it is a breath-taking scenery. Photo captured last June 2009.

View At My Window (Post#12) : Melbourne Town Hall Grand Organ

The reason why I like Open House event in any city is because of the freedom to enter in a building whether its public or private  for free. Melbourne Town Hall was one of the building that I got a chance to visit during the event. And here one of the best feature of the Town Hall is its majestic Main Hall where one of the most beautiful pipe organ in the world can be found, it is the original wood-carved Grand Organ which built-in 1929. The said organ has been refurbished and relaunched last 2001. The photo captured during Open House Melbourne event held last July 2013.

Photo above was captured last May 2013 when I went to Haigh’s Chocolate Factory in Adelaide near from City Centre. I got a chance to visit these three cities when I was in Australia.

Based on History, the very first store of Haigh’s Chocolate was opened in Adelaide City last May 1915 which will reach its centennial year this year 2015. That’s good to know.

Home (Post#12) : Kalibato Lake and Mount Banahaw

One of the many things that I really appreciate when I joined the mountaineering group is to discover the beauty of my country on its own. We made a tour in san Pablo Laguna because of the Seven (7) Lakes that it has. All the Seven Lakes are near to each other. One of the Seven Lakes is Kalibato Lake where we did a little bit of trek going down to the lake. I was not disappointed after seeing the view above. Mount Banahaw is the tallest mountain in CALABARSON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon Provinces) area. Photo captured last September 2011.

Chromatic Outlook (Post#12) : Petronas Towers

We had an opportunity to spent some of our holidays in Malaysia, three days of it was spent around Kuala Lumpur – the capital of Malaysia. When someone heard the name of this country, most commonly thing we think is Petronas Tower. The tower is also called as Petronas Twin Tower and served as the landmark of the city. As per Wikipedia, the tower was the tallest twin tower from 1998 to 2004.

Lake Louise with Victoria Glacier

Panoramic View (Post#12): Lake Louise

I visited Banff in Alberta province in Canada during the time where the winter was over recently. At that time, the switching of Winter to Spring season were still in progress, I got a chance to see Lake Louise in Banff where majority of its water are still solid as ice. The name of the lake was named after Princess Louise Caroline Alberta which was the 6th child and 4th daughter of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. For what I know up to this moment, Queen Victoria still holds the title of the longest reigning queen of England unless the current queen which is Queen Elizabeth II able to break which she just need 2 or 3 more years to be able to hold the title. The middle in the photo is what they call Victoria Glacier. Photo captured last May 2008.

When I visited Tasmania Island in Australia, I included a tour for Cradle Mountain. The said mountain is located in the Cradle Mountain-Lake Saint Claire National Park and it is one the main tourist site in the island. During the tour we did one of the available walks in the said park. I love the photo above because of the scenic view of Crater Lake from within the Cradle Mountain. Photo captured last June 2013.

Panoramic View : Mount Kinabalu

DSC06416Panoramic View (Post#11) : Mount Kinabalu

First mountain to climb – Mount Kinabalu, the mountain with the title of “Highest Mountain in South East Asia”. To be honest, I was not able to reached the summit of the mountain. Mount Kinabalu’s altitude is 4095 MASL (meters above sea level). Yes this was the first mountain that I climb when I joined the mountaineering club which headed by my colleague at work that time. I only reach the hotel in Laban Rata with altitude of 3200+ MASL. I never insist to myself to push over to my limits. I told myself that the mountain is not going anywhere and maybe time will permit me or allow me to reach the highest peak of this mountain. My group was composed of 13 mountaineers and 5 in the group were able to reached the highest peak. For me I made an accomplishment for a rookie member like me. But I will not recommend to do the same thing that I did because preparation for conquering high altitude mountain need training physically because it definitely helps. Precious Moment In The Mountain : Mount Cristobal

DSC06981

Precious Moment In The Mountain (Post#11) : Mount Cristobal

One of our preparation or training climb before conquering Mount Apo (The Highest Mountain in the Philippines) was Mount Cristobal climb. The said training was held last February 2009. Mount Cristobal was quite challenging mountain as there were some trails where we need to walk huge rocks full of moss which quite tricky as one wrong move will result to accident and injuries. One thing that I will never forget on this mountain was the part that we took a narrow trail, the side of it is a high cliff that one mistake life may cost it. Another thing that I never expect was we were depending on solid roots of the trees that strayed in the trail that helped us to grip and hold on to ourselves while passing the treacherous track. Photo above was just one of the views to see while inside Mount Cristobal.

My old post detailed the experienced I had when we climb Mount Cristobal.

From Vancouver, I took a sea float plane to Victoria City. The photo above was part of photos that I took while we were up in the air. Snapshot taken last June 2008. I tried my best to name all the islands as I can (please bear with me if in case I named some incorrectly).

I had a chance to visit Victoria City, a capital city of British Columbia province in Canada last June 2008. When I arrived at the inner harbour of this lovely city, it was the first place that I saw with fantastic surroundings on its harbour. For me, it kind of romantic place for travelers.

Home (Post#10): Cagayan De Oro River

When we set to climb Mount Hibok-Hibok in Camiguin Island, the whole group flew to Cagayan de Oro where we will take the boat to Camiguin. And since we were already in Cagayan de Oro or famously known as CDO, we did a side trip in the place. The photo above was taken during white water rafting last October 2012. I learned from our guide, that the river serves as natural boundary between Bukidnon and Iligan, and between Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro. Our adventure categorized as medium level based on where we started the rafting in the river. While doing the adventure I was really fascinated how wild the river is, how beautiful and clean it is. I actually fall in love with the river.

Chromatic Outlook (Post#10) : Melbourne City Town Hall

When I stayed in Australia, specifically in Melbourne, most of my travel plans were outside Melbourne or outside Victoria state as the city itself and nearby suburbs or towns will be easier to plan than traveling outside. And when Melbourne Open House event had been scheduled, I grabbed the opportunity to see the city because I have freedom to enter different buildings for free. One of the historic building I visited was the Melbourne City Town Hall which captured last July 2013. Melbourne City Town Hall as per Wikipedia is a municipal building of Melbourne City where the office of local government area is located.

Panoramic View (Post#10) : Mentone Beach

One of the self adventure that I did while staying in Melbourne was to visit the Bayside area. Bayside is composed of different suburbs which majority of it lies in south-eastern side of Metro Melbourne. Before, I was confused because there are suburbs and then there is Bayside. I checked the website of Bayside and they sent me a lot of brochure that I really appreciated because it keep me informed while walking at the coastline of the Bayside City. I learned that the following city such as Brighton, Sandringham, Moorabbin, Mordialloc and Bayside were united to become Bayside City.

The photo above is just one of the photos of Mentone Beach that I captured which partially part of Frankston and Mentone. During my walking adventure, I started my first part walk in this beach. Photo captured last December 2013.

As part of my Whistler tour during the time that I visited British Columbia in Canada, we did stopped at Cypress Provincial Park located in Cypress Mountain in West Vancouver. The scenery to be found while at the mountain was the overlooking of Greater Vancouver. The photo above was Vancouver Downtown Skyline which captured last June 2008.
